Building A List Of Companies That Do Not Have A Certain Job Role

1: Using Apollo.io so you get it all done inside one tool

In Apollo:

  1. People search > add any filters you want, but be sure to add a filter for the job title(s) you want the companies in your prospect list to NOT have
  2. Select all those people
  3. Click View Companies (this is hidden in a ... menu in the top center-ish part of the page)
  4. Select all the companies that appear and add them a Companies list
  5. Remaining in the Companies search, clear all your filters
  6. Set up a search with similar parameters to the People search from step 1, and exclude the Companies list you created in step 4
  7. Now you're looking at companies that do not have a CTO that works at the company.

Caveat: of course there will be some innacuracies in this list, so it's best to hand check it.

2: Using LinkedIn to increase your chances of getting the most current info possible

In LinkedIn Sales Navigator (LISN):

  1. Leads search > add any filters you want, but be sure to add a filter for the job title(s) you want the companies in your prospect list to NOT have
  2. Select a page worth of those people > Use the Apollo extension to add them to a People list, repeat to add all pages of LISN search results to this list (you can automate this selecting and adding process with UIPath)

In Apollo:

  1. View the People list from LinkedIn step 2
